What
is the May Court Club?
The May Court Club is the oldest volunteer Association in Canada. It
was founded in Ottawa in 1898 by Lady Aberdeen, wife of Canada's
Governor General at the time. Since then
May Court Clubs have been established in 9
Ontario cities. The
Barrie
branch was established in 1970 and joined the Association of May
Court Clubs of Canada that same year.
The Barrie Club has 125 members who enthusiastically donated over 14,500 hours of service last year, benefiting the young, elderly, and the citizens in our community. The motto DEO REGI VICINO - God, King, Neighbour - embodies the Club's vision statement to provide direct service to various groups as well as financial assistance to individuals and charities in need. Please see:

As
well as providing direct service, the May Court Club of Barrie
donated over $75,000 this year to various individuals, community
service groups and care centers, including the Royal Victoria
Hospital Cancer Care Center in Barrie.
